I happened to catch a local story on KCAL9 this morning on All'Antico Vinao and thought well that's just ten minutes away... and as lunchtime arrived I found my way headed towards Abbot Kinney to find All'Antico and see what this deliciousness was about! I scored street parking right in front but there is a valet parking lot behind for $11. I was lucky I'm sure that there was just one couple ahead of me in line so I was quickly greeted by a kind gentleman who was slicing up the bread and meats. I couldn't help myself or decide so I ordered two sandwiches. The Parididsio and the King (on the special board and added sun dried tomatoes). I asked for them to be cut but they forgot, which working with these pieces of culinary art I can see how that could happen. Plus it tastes the same with or without the cut. The fresh focaccia was amazing for with a thin crisp crunch on the outside and soft sandwich bread on the consistency on the inside. The freshly cut and cured meats are simply the finest! The unique sandwich spreads are amazing (OMG that truffle spread is going to be in my dreams). The sandwiches were ready within 5 minutes and they are quite big! I enjoyed both immensely, and shared them with a co-worker who was equally impressed! Definitely will be back! It was So good it might be tomorrow!

These sandwiches are bigger than my cat. Also would say this is one of my favorite sandwiches in Los Angeles. I am half Italian and I've been to Italy many times and can confirm this is a very authentic and delicious sandwich spot. They originally opened in 1991 in Florence and because of their popularity they now have multiple locations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York. I would not be surprised if more will be opening sometime soon, especially in OC or San Diego. There are not like the hoagie type of Bay Cities sandwiches they are much more meat and bread focused. The meat is much higher quality than you get at other locations and the bread is honestly huge and tasty. The focaccia bread is lightly coated with olive oil and it really makes for a delicious combination. The truffle spread on The Boss was absolutely fantastic and I enjoyed the others as well. I chose to do takeout for my order so did not dine in so cannot speak to in dining but I can confirm that takeout is honestly fantastic. For our first visit, we wanted to try a few different items. We ordered the La Schiacciata Del Boss, La Dante, and The New Yorker. Our favorite of the three was The Boss especially because of the prosciutto and truffle cream combination. It was honestly amazing and I already want to get it again. La Dante is also very similar, but they use capocollo instead of prosciutto. The New Yorker was also very good and the roast beef was very lean and flavorful. The onion cream on it was also a new combo for me and I honestly really enjoyed it. Pricing is fair, the sandwiches are huge, and the flavors are stupendous. I definitely would recommend to any fan of sandwiches, Italian food, or anyone looking for a unique and delicious breakfast or lunch option.

If you never been in Florence, All'Antico Vinaio brings Florence to you and is an absolute must-visit. This place is legendary for a reason: it lives up to all the hype. When you arrive, you'll notice the line of eager patrons waiting outside; trust me, it's worth every minute. The staff is efficient and friendly, keeping the line moving quickly while maintaining high service and quality. The star of the show is undoubtedly the sandwiches. These aren't just sandwiches--they are masterpieces. The bread is perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, baked fresh and piled high with the most delicious ingredients. My favorite is the "La Favolosa," which features a mouthwatering combination of Tuscan porchetta, creamy pecorino cheese, truffle spread, and fresh arugula. Every bite is a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that will leave you craving more. All'Antico Vinaio offers a variety of options to suit every palate, from hearty meats to fresh vegetables and rich cheeses. Each sandwich is made to order, ensuring the freshest and most flavorful experience possible. The prices are very reasonable, especially given the generous portion sizes. You could easily share a sandwich, but they're so good you might not want to! The vibrant and bustling atmosphere adds to the overall charm of the experience. Whether you dine in the cozy interior or enjoy your sandwich while strolling through the beautiful streets of Florence, you're in for a treat. Overall, All'Antico Vinaio is a culinary delight that captures the essence of Florentine street food. It's a place that will linger in your memory long after you've finished your last bite. I highly recommend it!

After seeing several social media posts about this place, I really wanted to try it. All that was standing in my way was a $1200 plane ticket to Italy. Hmmmm...... Well, a few months later, I see another social media post saying they're opening a Los Angeles outpost! Score! After another few weeks, I decided to finally make the trek down from the Bay Area. I looked at the hours and it said they open at 7am, which is perfect, because I normally start driving around 2am. Well, this was a fail. While they do open at 7am, they don't start serving sandwiches until 10:30am. I was bummed, but I have 2800+ Yelp bookmarks, so there were other things to go to (Erewhon review coming up shortly). I got there around 10am to be on the safe side. No one in line, but I would say around 10:20 is when a good chunk of people came. I went with the Paradiso (Mortadella, Stracciatella, Pistachio Cream, and Pistachios) and the Favelosa (Salame Toscana, Pecorino Cream, Artichoke, Spicy Eggplant) based on the recommendation of the guy working there. I ate the Paradiso there and took the Favelosa home. First off, these sandwiches are ginormous! I know they look thin in pictures, but don't be fooled. They fill up that bad boy with a ton of meat! I later found out that they can cut the sandwich in half. Make sure to do this, because there's a good chance you won't be able to finish it or if you want to split it with someone. It's more than enough. As for the taste of the actual sandwiches, the Paradiso was phenomenal! I was a little nervous, because of the pistachio cream and wasn't sure how it would be in a sandwich. But, holy cow, was it good! When combined with actual chopped pistachios, it was even better. It was such a unique flavor that didn't disappoint. However, the Favalosa did disappoint, a little. HOWEVER, I'm not the biggest fan of artichoke, and I did take it home and ate it 7 hours later, so that might have swayed me a little. But, I kept an open mind because it was their 2nd best-selling sandwich according the guy working there. Service is top notch. All the workers there were friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Parking can be hit or miss. I parked on one of the side streets, which had a ton of parking at 10am. But, when I went back to my car, there were a lot more cars around. Parking on the main street is definitely going to be a challenge.

First impression is that the sandwiches here are huge so 2 people can easily share 1 sandwich. But, they use quality ingredients and there will probably be a line at most times they are opened. All sandwiches use the same bread so check out the menu and find the ingredients that sounds good to your pallet. Check out my pics!

Al Antico Vinaio is a Venetian institution famous for its delicious sandwiches. These aren't your average sandwiches. The bread is crusty and fresh, and the fillings are piled high with quality ingredients. They have a very simple menu so you won't be overwhelmed by choices. The portion is generous so I was able to share my sandwich with a friend. Be prepared for a wait, especially during peak hours but the fresh ingredients and generous portions make it worth it. Despite the lines though, the staff is efficient at getting orders out quickly. Also, there's not much seating, so it's mostly a grab-and-go situation.

I had read so much about this Florence based sandwich shop, that I was excited when I stumbled upon it while in Venice Beach. It's brightly lit and very clean with an easy to read menu. They also have a bunch of paper menus to grab. It was almost closing time so I got in line, which luckily wasn't that long. However, it did take a while because each sandwich is made to order and most people seem to be first timers and ask a lot of questions. I had read a lot about their pistachio cream sauce so I ordered the La Paradiso, which also had mortadella, one of my favorite meats. An added bonus was that I almost felt like I was in Italy. The gentleman helping with the orders was clearly Italian and he spoke Italian with several guests. One woman in front of me was from Italy and they spoke completely in Italian and she knew how to order. Most importantly the sandwich was delicious. The bread was so fresh and fluffy. The pistachio cream and stracciatella cheese were so complimentary to the mortadella. I will be back soon to try something else.

I finally got to try these sandwiches! I went around 3-4pm on a Saturday afternoon and the line was very short. I ordered the LA SCHIACCIATA DEL BOSS and my partner got LA PARADISO. Each sandwich was $20 which is pretty pricy but they are quite large and lasted us 2 meals each. I loved the flavor of my sandwich, the salty meat paired well with the cheese and truffle cream. I only had a bite of the paradiso but it was also tasty. There are about 6 seating areas outside and bar seating inside. Street parking only, we parked in the neighborhood on the north side of abbot Kinney.
